The tool has the following modifications by max operating temperature T max and upper value of borehole hydrostatic pressure Pmax :
  T max =90 °C, Pmax= 80 MPa;
  T max =120 °C, Pmax= 80 MPa;
Designed to measure propagation parametersof compressional and shear waves in rocks in-situ. Shear wave parameters are determined only in high-velocity part of the section. Elastic waves parameters are measured according to compensation method to exclude influence of tool’s location in a well.

Used in oil and gas wells including horizontal wells with nominal diameter from 127 to 216 mm, filled with oil- or water-base mud.

Applications:
 well section lithological identification by  elastic properties of rocks;
 determination of total porosity factor;
 estimation of rocks elasticity modulus. 
 

The measuring sonde parameters

Sonde formula is R10.4R21.0T110.4T2.  
Emitted frequencies spectrum at level 0.5: 15÷30 kHz.
Transmitters are monopole, cylindrical and magnetostrictive.
Receivers are piezoelectric, spheres 30 mm.
It is possible to use Ø124 mm standoffs.
